  2022-02-21

GPR55 has been implicated in neuropathic and inflammatory pain (Staton et al., 2008) and bone remodeling (Whyte et al., 2009). Thus delineating the pharmacology of this receptor and the discovery of selective agonists and antagonists merits further study and could lead to new therapeutics. Acknow

  2022-02-21

The ER is responsible for calcium storage, lipid and protein biosynthesis, and the folding, assembly, and maturation of proteins [23], and ER stress is one of the main causes in T2DM, which leads to β-cell apoptosis and dysfunction [[5], [6], [7]]. In this study, TG was used as an ER stress inducer.

We tested this hypothesis with two experiments. In the first experiment OVX monkeys implanted with an E2 biotin-LC-LC-tyramide (this results in LH levels similar to the level during the follicular phase) were treated with daily injections of letrozole for 1 week and then EB was injected systemicall

  2022-02-18

This resembles a vicious cycle since BBB disruption and inflammation are thought to be caused by epilepsy, but other contributing factors are also known to be their cause, such as peripheral infection, autoimmunity, Cyanine 5-dUTP trauma and stroke that also underlie epilepsy [18]. Additional trigg

The existence of 5 EAAT subtypes raises obvious questions as to the cellular and anatomical distribution of the various transporters (for review, see Gegelashvili & Schousboe, 1998, Danbolt, 2001). While difference in techniques (i.e., protein vs. mRNA), reagents, and preparations (i.e., in vivo vs.

We report here a patient with a one-base frame-shift deletion in the PURA gene that presented an unusual phenotype including persistent hypoglycorrhachia. We propose a possible link between hypoglycorrhachia and PURA dysfunction postulating PURA as a GLUT1 regulator. We therefore hypothesize that m

Ca2+ influx through glutamate receptors is thought to play a critical role in synaptogenesis and in the formation of neuronal circuitry during early development[45]. Because AMPA receptors might contribute to these processes, particularly at times and in cells in which NMDA receptor expression is

Unlike our present results in 4–12-week-old (~1–3 months) females, where a high-fat-diet-induced increase in body weight was evident, Schmidt et al. exposed male glut3 mice to a similar high-fat diet (60% kilocalories from fat) and observed no change in body weight, plasma glucose or insulin concent

  2022-02-18

In order to discover novel small-molecule compounds with the activity of GLUT4 translocation, we conducted a cell-based phenotype screening in L6-GLUT4-myc myoblasts by measuring appearance of GLUT4 on the plasma membrane (GLUT4 translocation activity). Evaluation of total 183,400 compounds gave se

  2022-02-18

Inflammatory pain is very common in the clinic. A study demonstrated that galanin was upregulated after nerve injury or inflammation (Ma and Bisby, 1997). It has been reported that galanin plays an important role in the transmission of nociceptive information in the spinal cord of rats with inflamma

Furthermore, our results are the first to demonstrate that the stimulating effect of GALP on AVP release in rats is independent of galanin receptors. The same stimulatory GALP influence on AVP secretion has been also observed in the presence of galantide, an antagonist of Gal receptors in the incuba

The Farnesoid X receptor (FXR): identification and ligands The Farnesoid X receptor (FXR) belongs to a family of proteins called Nuclear Receptors (NRs). NRs are a class of ligand-activated transcription factors, which transactivate networks of target genes, thereby mediating a wide range of phys

Short Communication Free fatty sigma 1 receptor receptors (FFAR) play significant roles in energy metabolism (Brown et al., 2005; Ichimura et al., 2009). The receptor FFAR1 is involved in insulin secretion in humans (Meidute Abaraviciene et al., 2013). Activation of the receptor FFAR2 increases
