  2022-07-04

Introduction Opioids have long been used in pain management [1]. However, their non-medical use has grown rapidly in the last few years. Hydrocodone (HYD) is one of the most widely used short-acting opioids; with over 136.7 million prescriptions in 2011 [2]. HYD is a semi-synthetic opioid used fo

• Another key component of proper DA cell

  2022-07-04

Another key component of proper DA cell physiology is the basal firing activity of SN DA neurons, which maintains extracellular levels of dopamine in the dorsal striatum that are essential for voluntary movement [106]. Changes in SN DA neuron activity directly impacts the amount of dopamine released

Active compounds , , and were further tested and EC and pEC values were determined as shown in . Compound showed EC of 0.97μM (pEC 6.01) with 84.5% maximal response, which suggests that introduction of alkyl chain on aromatic nucleus of , resulted in improved GPR40 agonistic activity than that of (E

  2022-07-02

The presence of FBP2 in nuclei seems to accompany the cells' potential to divide as it has been shown that during differentiation of the satellite cells (myogenic progenitor cells) the amount of nuclear FBP2 decreases and in differentiated myotubes, the localisation of FBP2 is restricted to cytoplas

Our results further indicate that low expression of p300/CBP in CRC is directly associated with poor clinical therapeutic outcome of 5-FU treatment, potentially providing a new set of biomarkers to predict chemo-sensitivity. Although the ability of low expression of p300/CBP to predict poor prognosi

The data presented here support a dynamic and complex interplay among labile heme, BACH1 and HO-1. It appears also that metabolites of heme degradation may participate in the mechanistic regulation of the various factors examined. Our results point to the possibility that the HO-1 pathway restricts

  2022-07-01

Conclusion and perspectives Guanylyl cyclases are ubiquitous enzymes that regulate critical functions in bacteria to humans. In mammals there are seven mGCs and activators of all members have now been identified. Mutations in the genes that encode mGCs or pathologic activation of these enzymes or

  2022-07-01

An interesting question is why RhoF has such the slow rate of GDP dissociation. The amino Vincristine sulfate mutations in a presumable GDP-binding site of RhoF had only moderate effects on the GDP dissociation (Fig. 3C), which suggests a mechanism involving the global amino acid sequence of RhoF,

  2022-07-01

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder and characterized by the presence of abnormal filamentous protein inclusions in nerve cells of the brain [2]. The neuropathological hallmarks of AD were first reported by Alois Alzheimer and date back to 1907 [3], [4]. These inclusions are for

• The physiological and pharmacological roles of GPR remain

  2022-07-01

The physiological and pharmacological roles of GPR81 remain largely unclear because of several reasons. The low potency of lactate agonizing GPR81 in the millimolar range, together with its fast metabolic turnover, renders as a challenge in in vivo studies using lactate. Furthermore, there are no po

Endogenous and synthetic ligands of GPR55 There are currently limited commercially available synthetic agonists and antagonists that are specific for GPR55. A large number of studies have investigated the pharmacology of GPR55 4, 23, 25, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, with contradictory findings reporte

The manuscript provides mechanistic insights into the suppression of EGFR, BCRP, PKM2, and other cancer biomarkers in response to pharmacological inhibition of GPR55 with MNF and CID (Fig. 7). Firstly, inactivation of ERK has been previously demonstrated following treatment of PANC-1 JIB-04 with MN

• The expression of heat shock proteins

  2022-07-01

The expression of heat-shock proteins (HSPs) can be upregulated by viral infection, nutritional deficiency, TNF-α and oxidative stress in Triptolide [44], [45] HSPs are classified in six families (including the HSP10, HSP40, HSP60, HSP70, HSP90 and HSP100 families). HSP90 [46] for example provides a
