Ethics statements Introduction Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the fifth most common malignant tumor and the third leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide, with rapidly-increasing incidence in recent years [1,2]. Mounting evidence shows that viral hepatitis, toxin exposure, non-a

In our cohort, each patient had a median of 2 Anti-FXa measurements performed daily and a median of 1 infusion rate change daily to maintain therapeutic unfractionated heparin levels. Previously, several studies have documented that APTT-based protocols lead to more fluctuations in comparison with A

Loss of EZH2 function as a consequence of nonsense or frameshift mutations has also been detected in a cohort study conducted by Jankowska et al. in chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) patients, as an early event in cancer development [43]. Although, a recent study in Japan described increased le

Memories can last a lifetime, long after the transient events have passed. The fact that information stored in the salidroside can outlast the environmental trigger implies that enduring cellular changes in the central nervous system underlie memory. Epigenetic modifications of DNA and chromatin

It was then found that TAZ, a YAP holomog, binds heteromeric SMAD2/3–4 complexes in a TGF-ß-dependent fashion, and is recruited to TGFβ response elements (Varelas et al., 2008). Knockdown experiments identified TAZ as critical for nuclear accumulation of SMAD2/3/4 complexes in response to TGF-ß, and

A number of studies have reported that lncRNA may function as sponge to interact with miRNAs at posttranscriptional level, thereby regulating miRNA targeted genes (Tang et al., 2015, Han et al., 2015). For example, lncRNA Malat1 induces autophagy by regulating ULK2 via sponging miR-26b (Li et al., 2

Expression of p75NTR has been linked to several aspects of aggressive glioma growth, including migration and invasion, by various mechanisms in a large number of elegant studies [6], [7], [26], [27]. Our study adds to this literature by demonstrating specific roles in hypoxic tumor cells and regulat

In conclusion, re-evaluation of HER2 status is necessary to determine the appropriate use of anti-HER2–targeted therapy beyond disease progression. EGFR and c-met amplification, as well as PIK3CA mutation, are rarely associated with acquired resistance. Our results highlight the importance of formal

  2022-07-15

Mammals have three known Gli proteins: Gli-1, -2 and -3. Gli-1 does not undergo proteosomal degradation and hence, remains untruncated and always acts as a transcription promoter. Gli-1 is an important target gene for Gli-2. Full-length Gli-2 accumulates when Smo is activated because activated Smo p

In order to better manage HBV infection and related liver diseases, it is critical to develop new antiviral strategies to increase the rate of functional or complete cure of HBV infection (HBsAg loss and cccDNA elimination), achieving more than viral suppression (Zeisel et al., 2015). As a result, m

Consistent with previous reports of an association between increased accumulation of cAMP and GLP-1 secretion [25, 44, 45], we hypothesized that Oleoyl-LPI may regulate GPR119 activation and secretion of GLP-1 secretion through the cAMP/PKA/CREB pathway. Pharmacological inhibition of PKA by H-89 was

Based on the role of NMDA receptors in initiation and propagation of epileptic seizures and on potentiation of NMDA function by glycine, it has been hypothesized that glycine will have proconvulsant activity (Foster and Kemp, 1989). Indeed, there is some evidence that human epileptogenic foci, remov

Among the compounds prepared at this stage, the cyclopropylmethylenoxy analogue attracted our most attention since it demonstrated particularly good in vitro potency at GlyT1 (16nM), no activity at the GlyT2 isoform up to the highest concentration tested (30μM), good physical properties with moderat
